Alwyn Vorster

Mr Vorster is a mining executive with 30 years’ experience in the Australian, African and Asian minerals industry across a range of commodities including iron ore, coal, mineral sands, graphite, salt, potash and various other industrial minerals. He has a proven track record of delivery in exploration, project development and approvals, infrastructure access, project transactions, and company M&A - all underpinned by strong operational leadership, financial discipline and technical & commercial capability.

Mr Vorster has held various directorships over the past 12 years and was most recently Managing Director of BCI Minerals Ltd from 2016 to 2022. He was also formerly Managing Director of Iron Ore Holdings Ltd and Non-Executive Director of Volt Resources Ltd. Mr Vorster held management positions in several mining and resources companies, including Aquila Resources Pty Ltd (as Head – Iron Ore and Manganese) and Rio Tinto Iron Ore (as Regional Marketing Manager – China).

He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Geology and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa and a Master of Science (Mineral Economics) from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
